Start with the car’s actual location
The seller’s business address and the car’s location may be different. Ask where the vehicle can be inspected and whether it is in stock, reserved, at auction or being sourced. Export offered does not mean delivery is available to every country.
Check the exact specification
A model name can cover different engines, equipment and safety features across markets. Ask for the vehicle identification or chassis number, manufacture and first-registration dates, steering side and a specification record for that exact car. For an electric car, ask about its charging connector, charging capability and battery-condition evidence.
Ask for evidence of condition
Request current photographs, service records, known faults and details of previous damage or repairs. Ask who prepared any inspection or auction report and when. Discuss whether an independent inspection is possible before committing.
Resolve the destination questions first
Before paying a deposit, check the destination’s current import and registration requirements with its customs and vehicle authorities. Give them the exact vehicle details. A seller’s willingness to export does not establish that you can register the car where you live.
Get the complete quote in writing
Ask which currency you will pay in, what the quote includes, who arranges transport and insurance, and which costs remain yours. Confirm the required documents, payment recipient, cancellation terms and what happens if the car becomes unavailable.
A short list to send the seller
- Is this exact car available, and where is it now?
- Can you provide its identification number, service history and condition report?
- Do you export to my destination, and which documents will you supply?
- What is included in your quote, and what is excluded?
- Can I arrange an independent inspection before purchase?
Carmarked helps you discover and compare cars. Confirm the vehicle and transaction details directly with the supplier.
