Who is responsible

Browsing and saved cars

You don’t need an account to browse. If you save a car, we store its reference in your browser so you can find it again on the same device. You can remove saved cars at any time or clear them by deleting this site’s browser data.

We do not add advertising trackers or analytics cookies. Hostinger hosts the site and processes technical request information, such as IP addresses, requested pages and device/browser information, to deliver and secure the site. Carmarked keeps aggregate counts of listing-detail and outbound-link requests by listing and day for up to 90 days. These counters contain no visitor identity. Hostinger manages its own service logs.

Buyer accounts

We use your browser’s language settings to suggest a language. When you choose one, we remember it on this device. You can change it using the language selector or clear the preference by deleting this site’s browser data.

When you create an account, we store your name, email address, verification status, securely hashed password and saved-car references to provide your account. Essential secure session cookies keep you signed in for up to seven days. Verification and password-reset emails are sent through our email provider. We do not use these messages for marketing.

Account information is kept while your account exists. You can export your profile and saved-car data or delete your account from the account page. Operational backups are kept for up to 14 days. Following a restore, deletion requests must be reapplied before service resumes. We use account information to provide the service you request and protect it from misuse.

Contact and partner enquiries

If you use our form, we store your name, email, any company and website details, and message. Form enquiries are retained for up to 12 months; you can request earlier deletion. If you email us, we receive your address and the information you include. We use it to respond, manage the enquiry and, where relevant, arrange a dealer relationship. The basis is our legitimate interest in handling correspondence, or steps requested before entering an agreement. Please don’t send identity documents or sensitive personal details by email.

Correspondence is kept while needed to handle the enquiry and any resulting relationship, and longer only where necessary to meet legal obligations or resolve a dispute. We do not sell your personal information.

Who receives information

Our hosting and email providers process information necessary to provide those services. When dealer listings are added, their images and seller websites may be hosted by the dealer. Loading a dealer’s image or following their link connects your browser to that provider. Its privacy policy applies to those requests. We do not send your saved shortlist to dealers.

Your choices and rights

Depending on the applicable law and circumstances, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your information, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact us using the address above. You may also complain to your local data protection authority; in Norway this is Datatilsynet.
